We welcome you to join us in amplifying Indigenous voices.
Setting Sun Circle
After a decade of amplifying Indigenous voices through films, podcasts, research and gatherings, Children of the Setting Sun is embarking on a bold next chapter: the creation of Setting Sun Circle. Setting Sun Circle is a 17,000 sq. ft. immersive storytelling and cultural experience center in downtown Bellingham. It will be a space where storytelling, innovation, and Indigenous Knowledge meet the urgent challenges of our time. Join us on this journey.
We are on a journey to support Indigenous communities by amplifying their stories in the fight to protect salmon, their way of life, and Mother Earth. This project takes a three-pronged approach to applied storytelling with documentaries (Salmon People Stories), community-based participatory research and oral history collection, and inter-Tribal and cross-cultural gatherings.

Filmmaking
Films continue to serve as the beating heart of our work to amplify Indigenous voices. With every film project, we explore our shared humanity and the Indigenous values of gratitude, generosity, responsibility and respect. Our films share Native perspectives through screenings, gatherings, festivals, streaming services, public television and social media.

We continue growing into our responsibility to Mother Earth and to future generations. In the face of this ever changing world, we hear a call for hope, we see a need for justice and we seek peace. Our work at Children of the Setting Sun puts faith in the power of uniting good minds and good hearts. Together we can make a better world for our children's children.
